QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Where did you grow up, and what brought you to your current city? I was born and raised here in Sacramento. I went to Sac State and saved money by living at home with my parents to purchase my house!

Describe your ideal weekend. I love spending time with my family, working out, then doing some housework and finishing off with some cooking or baking.

Where would you most like to travel to and why? I’ve always wanted to go to Africa and work in an orphanage. I used to be a social worker and I love to help people.

What is your favorite part about your job and why? The clients I work with and friendships I’ve made. I also love to see when projects are completed and built.

Which of your professional accomplishments are you most proud of? I'm proud to oversee so many major projects and for the opportunity to educate our clients and provide insight into the Right of Way process. I'm proud that I know the process so well I can help others!

Is there anything people don’t understand about your job that you wish they did? We don’t just come and acquire people’s property, we work with impacted owners over several months to reach a settlement. Our projects are funded with tax-payer dollars, so it's imperative we build trust and work to justify the project need and benefit with the owners.

What do you like best about BRI? What do you enjoy most about working with your colleagues? I love the people I get to collaborate with daily. Together, we make so many memories and stories to share. I can honestly say I love coming to work every day!

What techniques do you use to ensure you’re productive and efficient? I use a desk calendar to write down all my meetings and tasks to complete, and I love it when I can cross off a task 😊

Do you have a tried-and-true method for structuring your day? I make a list and calendar. I always refer to that before I make another project commitment.

How do you best collaborate with colleagues? Communication is key! I also stay flexible and available to my coworkers.

How do you achieve a balance between work and your personal life? I love my job but once I leave work for the day, I leave it…I’m proud to say I don’t have a home computer and I don’t take my laptop home so once I leave for the night, I leave my job for the night (but I do have my emails on my phone and I don’t recommend it because my boss LOVES to email people at 3 AM)!
